Everyone is familiar with the traditional wedding centerpieces, flowers or candles in the middle of the reception tables. While these are both beautiful and classic, there are other options out there. Using cake toppers as your table centerpieces is a fun way to give your reception some personality. There are so many available to choose from. Below are a few ideas on how to decorate with cake toppers.
If you are going with a very traditional wedding, use the classic bride and groom wedding cake topper. However, you can choose different variations to place in the center of each table. There are toppers that depict the bride and groom holding hands, dancing, kissing, and almost anything else that you can think of. Placing these in the center of your reception tables, and surrounding them with flowers or ivy gives an elegant and classy feel.
If you are going with something a little more unique, but still want the bride and groom to be dressed in their wedding day attire, don’t worry there are several for you to choose from as well. Think of a hobby that one, or both of you enjoy and look for a topper to match. There are cake toppers that have the bride and groom playing golf. Playing or watching sporting events is also a popular topper. If you want to add a lot of personality to your reception, choose toppers that represent several different hobbies that you share and place them on different tables. To make this idea even more fun, surround the topper with similar items. For instance, if you choose a topper that shows the couple playing golf, you may want to scatter golf tees around the table. There are also toppers that portray the brides hobbies, such as shopping or talking on the phone. There are toppers to fit every hobby, and if you can not find what you are looking for you may want to consider custom ordering one.
If you have chosen a monogrammed cake topper for your wedding cake, smaller versions of your monogram will look wonderful as centerpieces. Monogrammed toppers add a certain feel of elegance that others may lack. You can also have your monogrammed toppers made in the colors of your wedding. For instance, if you are using fall colors, you may want to have a few made in different shades of brown. Carrying on with the fall theme, you could surround your toppers with ribbon, artificial leaves, or fall flowers. Candles also look lovely when mixed in with the toppers. You could also choose to use different sizes of toppers on the different tables.
With so many to choose from, it may be hard to narrow your choice down to one. If this happens to you, choose several. There are no rules that say you must only use one. Choose several different toppers that tell the story of your life and your personality. This will add so much to the reception, and the guests will leave the ceremony having learned something new about the couple.
