Things to Consider When Selecting Your Wedding Date

As the couple embarks on their wedding planning journey there are a few things to keep in mind when selecting a wedding date, family, holidays, and day of the week and venue. here are a few tips and things to consider when choosing your wedding date. You may want to select a couple dates and be flexible until all things have been considered.

1. Family
Every couple want to share their special day with family and friends.  You should contact  parents and very important family members to make sure they will not have a conflict whit your wedding date. After selecting your bridal party you will want to notify them of the wedding date as soon as possible to make sure that every one will have time to make arraignments to attend all events leading to the wedding.

2. Holidays
Have a wedding on a three day weekend is a great idea and befits any guest who may be traveling.  Holiday weddings can affect your budget.  Christmas is a great holiday to wed. Most venues are decorated with Christmas trees and lots of lights, which can help cut your decorating budget.  Valentine’s is a romantic time of year to get married however it will make your decorating  and flower budget skyrocket.  flowers can be very costly during the valentine’s holiday season.
The holiday season may conflict with your guest and there family vacation plans.  Please consider the importance of your guest attendance when selecting a holiday. Be sure to consider and check to make sure that no culture or local major event will be taking place at or near the locations where your wedding activates will take place.

3. Day of Week
Most weddings take place on Saturday evenings during the wedding season.  Couples can save by selecting a Sunday wedding and serve the guest a Sunday brunch.  Most venues have reduced prices for weekdays and for weddings that take place during the off peak season.

Selecting your wedding date is very important because until this date is selected you can not book the church or reception site which means invitations can not be ordered and so forth.
